ROCKROSE HYDROSOL / Cistus creticus plant water
ROCKROSE HYDROSOL / Cistus creticus plant water
What is a hydrosol: This is one of two products, resulting from the distillation of aromatic or medicinal plants. The essential oil is the other one. Like the concentrated essential oil, the plant water holds the therapeutic propersties and aromatic profile of the plant in question. Such aromatic waters are used in skincare, aromatherapy, perfumery and more.
Our Cistus Creticus hydrosol was produced from the wild Cistus Creticus plant, sustainably gathered at peak flowering period in our village Pyrga, Cyprus. Made by hydro and steam distillation method from the flowers, stems and leaves of the plant in a copper alembic still. It is a highly aromatic product of distilling to obtain floral water, not a biproduct of distilling for essential oils. It contains a small % of essential oils - between 0.05% - 0.30%.
