Pyrga is a green haven all year round. It is surrounded by seven mountains and we are simply besotted with It. Its biodiversity is so rich, the aromatic profile is spectacular. Every ingredient in this artisan creation is sourced and/or extracted locally. We have committed to supporting small local farmers and entrepreneurs by sourcing everything we use to make our botanical aromas, strictly from Cyprus, including our locally brewed artisan grape alcohol.

OLFACTORY IMPRESSION OF PYRGA:

Wake up on a sunny morning in Pyrga, Cyprus, to breakfast on the veranda overlooking the Pine and Cypress trees. Sip on a freshly squeezed orange juice, while inhaling the forest air. Smell spells of caramelised vanilla from the trees' barks and resins, combined with green notes from the sun kissed Pine needles, carried to your nose by the wind. Fresh balsamic turpentine notes are released from the abundance of Mastic shrubs, nestled around the conifers. In our village the hills are sun lit and in the air an impression make the evergreen Cypress trees and vibrant medicinal herbs like Lavender, Rosemary and Sage. Our botanical impression of Pyrga takes you along the mountainous pathways to experience wild plants like ambery Rockrose and resinous Tremithos trees.

When smelling PYRGA botanical aroma for the first time, forget your previous experience with scent. Dash your expectations, leave your perception of what you think it "should smell like" aside. Allow your nose and brain to explore and be surprised. Botanical aroma is in a league ot its own, where true and real nature smells are captured via traditional and ancient means of extraction, such as distillation, tincturing, maceration, enfleurage. The creative work around preparing this scent has been years in the making. Inspiration and creation took many unexpected twists and turns, countless hours of dedication. It is in fact a love letter to Cyprus and a true impression of its nature.

This is the first of a series of love letters, which are dedicated to different areas of biodeversity on the island, at different altititudes. We begin with exploring Pyrga at 270 m. of altitude. Then, we move on to the biggest mountain range here, Troodos, and after - to the seacoast. All three altitudes will offer fascinsting and memorable botanincal aromas. 

Currently the scent is maturing in a cool, dark place. This is crucial for a product so alive and full of character - its ingredients are getting acquainted and befriending one another until a synergy is reached after 6 weeks of mingling and settling.
